The map: Antique map of Brazil and Guiana (Guyana today) in 1914 when the colonial claims divided Guiana into British, French and Dutch territories. Countries are shown with color-tinted areas as well as cities, major lakes and rivers. Topographic detail is engraved as hachures to represent mountain ranges and many of the peaks are shown with elevations. This lovely original print, over 100 years old, represents exceptionally fine engraving techniques. The map was drawn in 1914 and published a year later in 1915.
