The map: Antique map of France in 1914 with insets of Paris and Corsica. Departments (administrative areas) are shown with color-tinted areas and listed in a separate legend. Cities, towns, rail lines and waterways are included. Topographic detail is engraved as hachures to represent mountain ranges at the borders with Spain, Italy and Switzerland. A legend to major cities and towns is to the right of the neatline. This lovely original print, over 100 years old, represents exceptionally fine engraving techniques. The map was drawn in 1914 and published a year later in 1915.
