Also on the day of the lecture, the currrent exhibition at the Rare Book Department, Unimaginable Coasts: European Exploration and the Conquest of the Americas, will be open to the public from 1:00 – 5:00 pm.

Also on October 26, at 7:00 pm, Dr. John Rennie Short (Professor of Public Policy, University of Maryland, Baltimore County), will deliver a lecture entitled Cartographic Encounters in the New World.
