March 29, London. At the Warburg Institute, University of London, Woburn Square, London. 5:00 p.m. Maps and Society, Sixteenth Series. Drs Michael Winstanley and Bill Shannon (Department of History, University of Lancaster) discuss Lord Burghley and Elizabethan Maps of Lancashire.

April 3, London. International Map Collectors' Society. 6:00 pm. Collectors' meeting at Farmers Club, 3 Whitehall Court, London SW1. The meeting will be chaired by Francis Herbert. The theme of the evening will be the 400th anniversary of the Dutch discovery of Australia, and related maps.

April 10, Denver. The Rocky Mountain Map Society , 6:00 pm, Denver Public Library. 13th Ave and Broadway, 5th floor, Gates Room. Steve Hoffenberg will present The Cartography of Indian Country, focusing on the Act of Congress establishing Indian Country in 1834. His presentation includes U.S. and Western maps illustrating the evolution of Indian Country.

April 14, New Haven, Connecticut. 2:30 pm. New York Map Society meets at Sterling Memorial Library at Yale University. Abe Parrish, interim Curator of the Yale Map Collection, will lead the discussion. Members only, rsvp Heather Kinsinger.

April 19, Washington D.C. Meeting of the Washington Map Society, 7:00 p.m., Geography and Map Division, B level, Library of Congress, Madison Building, 101 Independence Avenue. Dating Old Maps with the Print Clock, presented by Dr. Blair Hedges, professor of biology at Penn State. Dr. Blair has developed a way of estimating the dates of woodblock and copperplate prints. April 26, London. At the Warburg Institute, University of London, Woburn Square, London. 5:00 p.m. Maps and Society, Sixteenth Series. Hugh Prince, formerly of the Department of Geography, University College London, will present: Surveyor or Plagiarist? The Parks on John Warburton's Map of Hertfordshire (c. 1724).
