The Texan Guan, from John Cassin's Illustrations of the Birds of California, Texas, Oregon, British and Russian America. The bird is set against a background scene that is reminiscent of Audubon scenes. Cassin's work, which at one point was intended to be published in co-operation with John James Audubon, is a notable achievement in its own right. Very good condition.
