Attractive antique map of Southern Germany from Fullarton's Royal Illustrated Atlas
published in London, 1862. It includes both printed and hand-coloring,
and at the center is a detailed map of the area stretching from
Frankfurt to the Swiss border. It shows in detail cities, towns,
rivers, mountains, lakes, and so forth. The map is surrounded by
hand-colored inset plans of four cities: 'Nuremberg,' Munich,
'Mayence,' and 'Frankfort.' There is also an inset of the 'State of
Frankfort.' These city plans are extremely detailed, each with a key
depicting such features as theaters, museums, post offices, markets,
etc. One tiny marginal tear repaired with tape on verso, otherwise fine
condition. Reference: Phillips, Geographical Atlases, number 838. |
