| Hand-painted lithograph from Richard Bowdler Sharpe's Monograph of the Birds of Paradise, the culmination of John Gould's work, published between 1891 and 1898. This print shows three birds of this species, with the bottom bird displaying the magnificent red coloration of body and wings. A tiny area of lighter colored paper at bottom left corner, where old library ink stamp expertly removed. Trace of finger smudging at bottom left of sheet. Overall very good condition. |
