| Plate 33 from the 2nd octavo edition, Quadrupeds of North America, by John James Audubon,
published in 1854. Mink is a dramatic and beautiful print, showing the male and female of the species against a detailed background. Audubon's great work
stands today as the monumental 19th-Century record of American animals. The production of
the series was overseen by Audubon's sons, V.G. Audubon and J.W. Audubon. A little browning to edge of sheet, and a little binding residue at top, otherwise very good
condition. |
