| A nice little copperplate engraving by French engraver-publisher Jean Lattre. Lattre, who at various times engraved for the De Vaugondy family and at times competed with them, prepared this map for a geography book by French philosopher Antoine Pluche. The geography was titled Concorde De La Geographie Des Differens Ages. The present map comes from an edition published in Paris in 1785. It depicts present-day Turkey along with Armenia, and shows cities and towns, mountains, rivers, lakes, and so forth. With two folds as issued, otherwise very good condition. |
