| Civil War era map of Florida, published by Johnson & Ward in 1863. Nineteenth-century maps showing the individual state of Florida are increasingly scarce. This hand-colored map shows just four counties covering most of southern Florida: Manatee, Brevard, Monroe, and Dade. Towns, villages, forts, rivers, lakes, Indian tribes, and much more are clearly depicted. With a detailed inset of the Florida Keys, and a decorative, scrollwork border. Very light age-toning, and fragile sheet edges, as expected on maps from Johnson & Ward. Very good condition. |
