Currently offering prints from John Cassin's Illustrations of the Birds of California, Texas, Oregon, British and Russian America, published in 1856. Cassin's Illustrations is less well-known than the work of Audubon, but in many ways is on a par with it. It features birds not recorded by Audubon, and was at first planned as a continuation of Audubon's octavo Birds of North America. However, business disputes scuttled the plan, and Cassin published his work independently. Cassin's Illustrations was printed and colored by J. T. Bowen of Philadelphia, who performed a similar function for Audubon.
