Indexed County and Township Map of Indiana
An 1881 Rand, McNally & Co. indexed Indiana state map and booklet, the booklet measuring approximately 6.7 x 4 inches. With original paper covers, 48 pp. of text, several pages of ads, and large folding map. The index provides a wealth of information, including all the railroads in the state, the counties and their populations, names of lakes and rivers, and every town and village including population and mailing address. The wax-engraved folding map, which is copyright-dated 1881, depicts the state in great detail, showing counties, county seats, towns, villages, township lines, rivers, railroads, lakes, and so forth. At the bottom of the front cover is an old, fading owner's inscription, otherwise the booklet is in very good condition. The map, measuring approximately 19.5 x 12.5 inches, has a few minor fold separations, otherwise it is in excellent condition.
