Ianthothorax Benzbachi (Bensbach's Bird of Paradise)
Description
Hand-painted lithograph from Richard Bowdler Sharpe's Monograph of the Birds of Paradise, the culmination of John Gould's work, published between 1891 and 1898. The bird displays a distinctive green head and a long tail. A tiny area of lighter colored paper at bottom left corner, where old library ink stamp expertly removed. Overall very good condition.
