| A well-detailed map of Utah, from O. W. Gray's Atlas of the United States, with General Maps of the World, published in 1874. The detail is excellent, as it depicts individually hand-colored counties, cities, towns, railroads, rivers, lakes, mountains, and so forth. Some topographical notations appear, such as this in Wasatch County: 'Elevated plain, gently rolling, fertile, fresh water lakes, and timber.' In the southern area is the notation: 'Broken Alkaline Mountains (Unexplored).' A trace of browning in margins, overall very good condition. Blank on verso. Reference: Phillips, Geographical Atlases, number 4526. |
