| A large, well-detailed antique map of Minnesota, from O. W. Gray's Atlas of the United States, with General Maps of the World, published in 1874. The northern part of the state is dominated by just seven counties: Lake, St. Louis, Itasca, Cass, Beltrami, Pembina, and Polk. The detail is excellent, as it depicts individually hand-colored counties, cities, towns, railroads, rivers, lakes, mountains, and so forth. There is a small, half-inch marginal centerfold separation at each end of the centerfold, otherwise very good condition. Many pages in this atlas were printed on both sides -- maps of Wisconsin and Michigan are on the verso of this map. Reference: Phillips, Geographical Atlases, number 4526. |
