Drepanornis Cervinicauda (Bennett's Bird of Paradise)
Description
Hand-painted lithograph from Richard Bowdler Sharpe's Monograph of the Birds of Paradise, the culmination of John Gould's work, published between 1891 and 1898. Shows the male and female of the species, with dramatic, long curved bills. A tiny area of
lighter colored paper at bottom left corner, where old library ink stamp expertly removed. Overall very good condition.
