Clark's Map of Fairfield County, Connecticut
Clark's Map of Fairfield County, Connecticut
Scarce, antique wall map of Fairfield County, Connecticut, home of famous towns like Stamford, Greenwich, Westport, and Ridgefield, Connecticut. Decorative border at top and bottom, further embellished with 16 vignettes of scenes in Fairfield County (primarily of notable homes). Also, surrounding the main county map are 20 town plans of varying sizes, including all the major county towns of the day. Great detail appears on the map, including individually-colored towns, railroads, roads, rivers, lakes, coastal features, property owners, churches, schools, post offices, and much more. Recently professionally restored, with new linen backing and maroon cloth edging. Original rollers. Some light browning in spots, nonetheless overall very good, and a hard map to find in this condition.
