Description
Plate 36 from the 2nd octavo edition, Quadrupeds of North America, by John James Audubon, published in 1854. The Canada Porcupine, shown climbing on a branch. Audubon's great work stands today as the monumental 19th-Century record of American animals. The production of the series was overseen by Audubon's sons, V.G. Audubon and J.W. Audubon. Very good condition.
