Butterfly Prints
 The 19th Century was the Golden Age of natural history books, reflecting the explosion of knowledge in all scientific fields. The study of butterflies (lepidoptery) seems to have fascinated the Victorians, and several authoritative butterfly books were published in this period. We are currently offering chromolithograph prints from W. F. Kirby's European Butterflies and Moths, published in London in 1882. These beautiful prints feature glorious color with hand finishing, and show butterflies in various life stages against backgrounds that often include detailed, precise plant life.
