An increasingly scarce little black and white antique map, from John Melish's Description of the United States, published in Philadelphia in 1816. Melish's work was published in a number of editions, beginning in 1814. It shows the country around Boston, from Hingham in the south to Salem in the north, and includes Cambridge and the whole bay area. Shows major roads, towns and villages, coastal features, and so forth. Copper engraved. Very good condition.
